cauliflower quiche
hobbies, work, home, arne February 19th, 2007Today was a pretty nice day at work. I was uber-productive in the morning, so I was able to help Jason out a little with his pups, which totally made me feel like a decent person. I ran another real-time PCR this morning and the results look nice (and parallel what we already know well). I also started another LMPCR, with Jixiu’s supervision, which will hopefully work better than the last two. The sooner this works, the sooner my name gets on a manuscript (and the sooner I can think about graduating).
I made a nice cauliflower quiche for dinner tonight. Both the eggs and the cauliflower came from our house, which was pretty awesome. I bought the wrong dough for the crust — we usually buy the crescent roll dough, but I bought biscuit dough by accident — but it worked out pretty well. Nice and fluffy. One of the best meals I’ve made in a long while.
Three eggs
Two cups milk
One medium cauliflower, presteamed
6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
A healthy pinch of fresh dill, chopped finely
About 1/2 tsp kosher salt
It took about an hour to bake at 350, by which time we were starved. I also made a batch of brownies for dessert which were most excellent.
I’m off to focus on the last half hour of Heroes, then it’ll be time for bed. Happy Monday evening, friends.
