I was in one blue funk this weekend (as evidenced by Saturday’s post, I guess), but I’m feeling much better now. As I joked to one of my professors today, it’s Monday, and there’s a whole week ahead to crush my hopes, but it’s okay because I’ll relax over the weekend and be ready to go next Monday. :-D

I poured a lovely (well, reasonably attractive) LMPCR gel today. In fact, I had enough good wells to run two different sets of samples. I transfered them both and will wash the membranes tomorrow. I think I’ve figured out my problems from last week…I think my wash conditions were far too stringent. I don’t think I used enough salt or SDS in the wash buffer, so I probably stripped off all of the probe from each membrane. I’m optimistic about tomorrow. With another week or so of hard work I think I’ll have enough data on the fibroblasts for my committee meeting. Enough about work.

I made another cauliflower quiche tonight which was, if I do say so myself, stupendous. I’m enough of a dork that I took a picture of it, which I’ll post tomorrow sometime. I also made some more brownies, so our net egg production today was -2. I got two eggs this afternoon after work and used four to cook dinner. Another month or two of this and we’ll be back to even. Heh. Anybody want some tasty, home-grown eggs?

Oh, man. I’m too tired to keep thinking straight. I’m going to try to follow Heroes and then hit the sack. G’night, chickens.
