too close to home, redux
knitting, friends, hobbies, home, arne October 15th, 2008Monday afternoon I was sitting at home, watching a little TV, playing with Lily, when there was a great CRASH and I felt the entire house shake. Brief investigations revealed nothing out of the ordinary inside. Outside, however…

Woo! Isn’t that exciting? Fortunately the branch just landed *on* the roof, and not *through* it. I’m taking this afternoon off and am planning to break out the saw, so the yard trash folks will take it away tomorrow.
So, what else has been going on? Over the weekend, we got to go celebrate an awesome friend’s birthday, which was really great. We were able to be there to see the live story of her birth, even!

It’s not the greatest of pictures…it was really sunny out. But the experience was amazing! And, this is a slight tangent, but how awesome is a person with this former license plate:

Hehehe.
In knitting knews, my first pair of socks is rapidly approaching done. Hurray! I’ve completed the first one, Kitchner stitch and all, and I’m turning the heel on the second sock right now. I’d guess it’ll be another week, and they’ll be done. After that? After that, I got some totally awesome, super-cool sock yarn as a member of the Hanks Yarn and Fiber Inaugural Sock Club. Check out the beautiful yarn. Haha, just kidding. Full color pictures to come soon, probably after I’ve cast on.
Oop, back to work. Type to you more, soon!
